Collection Analysis Tools

Vendor's Web Analysis

There are a number of tools that will help to analyze the library collection.  Some circulation programs like Si
rsiDynix have reports that can be helpful.
Other tools offered by vendors can be found on:
  • Follett Titlewave
  • Children's Plus Inc.
These tools require one to upload their marc records to the vendor's website. These two vendors can produce the following reports after an analyis:
  • Average age of collection by 100s or 10s and the percentage of collection
  • Balanced Dewey Comparison
  • Collection by Year
  • Age Sensitivity (This report expects titles to be replaced every 3-5 years which seems a bit unrealistic)
  • Aged Titles-shows titles with copyright dates older than 15 years. They are grouped by hundreds or collections
